Thai Cuisine

Thai food is well-known for its enthusiastic use of fresh (rather than dried) herbs and spices. Common flavors in Thai food come from garlic, galangal, coriander/cilantro, lemon grass, shallots, pepper, kaffir lime leaves, shrimp paste, fish sauce, and chilies. The clear example is Tom Yum Goong (Spicy Shrimp Soup) – the most popular Thai food.

Som Tum (Spicy Green Papaya Salad) is an another popular appetizer in Thailand. Garlic, chilies, green beans, cherry tomatoes and shredded raw papaya are main ingredients while dry shrimp, salted crab or peanuts are optional. I was amazed how Thai people can eat Som Tum every meal, even everyday!

Pad Thai (Thai style Fried Noodles) is one of the my most favorite food. The reason I love this food because it is tasty, less spicy. It is truly the default international Thai dish. Thin or wide noodles is stir fried with bean sprouts, onion and egg, fish sauce, sugar, chilli powder and finely ground peanuts. Meats or shrimps is optional cooked inside. The various kind of flavor and the way to cook is enough to wake up your senses.

Finally, Thai Sweet Sticky Rice With Mango (Khao Neeo Mamuang) is a wonderful and authentic-tasting Thai dessert. Sticky rice is served with coconut milk sauce and sesame seeds. If you forget to eat it when you travel? Don’t worried, this dessert is always sold inside Suvarnabhumi Airport (international airport in Bangkok capital).
